Abstract

Handwritten letter from Mrs. Carroll Livingston, of Staten Island, to the Governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor, regarding the matter of steps leading to the river that were built by Sailors' Snug Harbor but included on her bill. She asks the Board of Trustees to extend the fence between the properties to the north sea wall, to prevent inmates of the Snug Harbor from scaling the wall and crossing her property while going between the Snug Harbor and New Brighton. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor.
