Handwritten letter from Robert Hawke, of the office of Philip B. Low, Rigger, to Captain Thomas Melville. Hawke mentions that he was recently informed by a sailor that Captain James B. Bell, formerly of the ship "William Tapscott" and lastly of a ship named after himself, had recently died at Sailors' Snug Harbor. Hawke asks Melville to inform him whether or not this is the case, as an old friend of Captain Bell's.Type Of Resource
