Handwritten letter from Reverend Richard M. Hayden, of Leake and Watts Orphan House, to Captain Thomas Melville, requesting further information on the recently purchased iron bedsteads at Sailors' Snug Harbor. Hayden informs Melville that he recently visited Sailors' Snug Harbor, while Melville was away, and asks for information on where Melville purchased the bedsteads and how much they cost, as he is interested in getting an estimate of what it would cost to purchase bedsteads for the Orphan House.
