Abstract

Handwritten letter from Captain Thomas Melville, to Mr. W. H. Squires regarding the expulsion of his uncle, John Squires, from the Sailors' Snug Harbor in June 1868. Melville states that the expulsion was voted unanimously by the board of trustees. [Cataloger's note: There are sections that have been crossed out, presumably by Melville.]
