Abstract
Handwritten letter from S. Wells Phillips, [presumably to Sailors' Snug Harbor], of Greenport, New York, regarding the rumor of the death of Captain Isaac M. Case at Sailors' Snug Harbor. Phillips notes that Case left Greenport on October 1st and was admitted on October 2nd to the Snug Harbor. Phillips wrote the Harbor to confirm the facts in regards to the rumor. Received while Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor.
