Abstract

Handwritten letter from Oscar T. Sherman, M.D., of the Seamen's Fund and Retreat, to Captain Thomas Melville, regarding the bearer, Mr. Johnson, who was previously a carpenter at the Seamen's Fund and Retreat and is currently looking for work at Sailors' Snug Harbor. Sherman states that Captain [John] Ferrier wishes Johnson to work at the Harbor.
