Handwritten letter from Benjamin B. Torrey, of the Boston Providence Railroad Corporation, to Superintendent of Sailors' Snug Harbor, inquiring about the date of the death of a man named Nils Brygges [Nicholas Bryggse]. Torrey wishes to know the date of Bryggse's death, as well as if he left anything behind that could be sent to him. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor. A notation indicates that the letter was answered on January 2, 1872.
The collection is on permanent loan at the Stephen B. Luce Library of SUNY Maritime College. The Sailors' Snug Harbor records are the Property of the Trustees of the Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
