Letter to Captain Thomas Melville, Governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor, from J. M. Falconer, January 25, 1883

Identifier
SC-0016-III-A-1-0273
Abstract
Handwritten letter from J. M. Falconer, to Captain Thomas Melville, regarding an invoice. He also explains that while Mr. [Thomas?] Greenleaf wanted the knives marked with the Sailors' Snug Harbor name, the costs associated will be higher, as the factory will need a master plate of the name. He requests clarification on what should be done in Greenleaf's absence due to illness. Next to the central fold is an embossed oval seal with flowers in the center. [Cataloger's note: The author appears to give Mr. Greenleaf's initial as a W but he is presumably referring to Thomas Greenleaf, Controller.]
