Abstract
Handwritten letters from Henry D. Noyes, M.D., of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, regarding a patient in his care named John Ross. In the first letter, Noyes states that Ross has cataracts in his eyes, but that it is currently inadvisable for them to be operated on. The second letter, written by Dr. [Richard] Derby on behalf of Noyes, states that Ross is now ready for the operation. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
