Abstract
Letter from Mrs. H. E. Files writing on behalf of Mrs. O. F. [T?] Brown [Browne?], to Sailors' Snug Harbor, stating that a letter was sent to Mrs. Brown by her brother, Captain A. [Alonzo] C. Ames, saying that he wanted to leave the Harbor and come to her but she is ill with typhoid fever. The writer asks that Ames be kept at the Harbor until warmer weather, as she would be happy to have him but not while she is ill. 

Received while Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask was the governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor.
