Handwritten letter from D. M. D. Ewens [sp?], to Superintendent of Sailors' Snug Harbor, regarding a man by the name of James Murray. Murray claims that Ewens put in a subscription to help bury Murray's wife, and that Murray has now built him a model ship, which Ewens owes money to Murray for completing. Ewens writes to find out if Murray is an inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
The collection is on permanent loan at the Stephen B. Luce Library of SUNY Maritime College. The Sailors' Snug Harbor records are the Property of the Trustees of the Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
