Abstract

Handwritten letter from A. W. Lavender to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, stating that he has seen Captain Ambrose Snow, who has told him that the Trustees of the Harbor have decided that Lavender should be given all the clothing to which an inmate of the Harbor is entitled, as if he were residing there. Lavender asks Trask to direct Mr. [Joseph K.?] Clark to deliver an accounting from the Harbor's books of what he should have received, as he explains that there was an overcoat that he never received during Thomas Melville's tenure as governor and that Mr. Brooks [of Brooks Brothers?] has never had on his books.
