Abstract

Handwritten letter from John I. Bagge, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, thanking Trask on behalf of Thomas Smith's sisters, who are grateful for the time Trask took to inquire about Smith for them. Bagge mentions the money Smith left to his sisters. [Cataloger's note: The letter is undated but the later notation in the upper left corner gives the date as November 28, 1887.]
