Abstract
Handwritten letter from Edmund B. Double, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor residing at the Hudson River State Hospital, asserting that he was sent to the asylum for defending himself. He wishes to return to Sailors' Snug Harbor and states that there was never a problem until Trask took over from Governor [Thomas] Mellville [sic]. He also claims mistreatment, including not having received his tobacco while others do.
