Abstract

Handwritten letter from W. H. Flagg to Sailors' Snug Harbor asking if a man named George Wilson was recommended to the Harbor by Flagg's associates Mr. [Rowland R.] Hazard [Jr.] and Mr. Swan, having previously served at Grinnell Minturn & Co. An individual claiming the above associations has contacted Flagg, asking to speak to Mr. Hazard, for whom Flagg is the agent during his travels in Europe but Flagg asks for Wilson's identity to be confirmed by the Harbor before he proceeds. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
