Abstract

Handwritten letter from Alfred W. Shaw, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, stating that he has heard that the gate keeper, Mr. Well, has circulated rumors about Shaw's participation in the last election. Shaw denies these rumors and insists that he responded truthfully to Mr. Harlem's questions to him about the election. Shaw asks for Trask's support.
