Abstract
Handwritten letter from Fred C. Bryan, head of the reading room and inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, regarding fellow inmate W. [William] W. Pratt. Bryan states that he found Pratt "setting in a very improper manner" and, when Bryan asked him to sit properly, Pratt grabbed him and insisted they go see Governor Trask. When Bryan refused, Pratt insulted him.
