Abstract
Anonymous letter to Mrs. Louisa Hammond, matron of Sailors' Snug Harbor. The writer states that Mrs. Hammond was mentioned in conjunction with the negativity surrounding Governor Trask in the affair of the expulsion of an inmate, Clifford, as well as in the trial of Anderson. The writer goes on to say that it is due to the Old Snugs that Hammond has her position and asks her to be kinder. The writer signs off as "One Who Knows".
