Abstract

Handwritten letter from William Jacobsen [Jacobson?], inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, requesting permission to go to Brooklyn on Sunday mornings to attend worship meetings. He adds a postscript that Mr. William L. [William S.?] Heron will confirm the validity of his request, as there is currently no pastor leading the meeting. A notation in red ink at the top of the page indicates approval by Governor Trask on October 11, 1890.
