Handwritten letter from J. Freeman Atwood, secretary of the Brooklyn office of the United States Department of the Interior Pension Bureau to Dr. S. V. R. Bogert [Stephen Van Rensselaer Bogart], regarding a visit that the Pensions Board will be making to Sailors' Snug Harbor on the 8th. Atwood believes this will be mutually convenient for inmates, who will not have to come to the city and wait with the other applicants. He explains that Captain Jeremiah Andrews should be well acquainted with the Harbor pensioners and be able to inform them of this arrangement.
