Abstract
Handwritten letter from Jerry Murray, to the Superintendent of Sailors' Snug Harbor, regarding his uncle, William Smith, who was boarding with a "Peter Grahams" in New York. Murray states that Smith may be at the harbor but he is unsure, and would like any information on Smith's whereabouts. Murray also notes that Grahams has since moved to Hartford, Conn.

Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor.

[Cataloguer's Note: There are multiple William Smiths that were inmates at the harbor at this time, and it is unclear whether any of them are the same William Smith mentioned in the letter.]
