Abstract
Letter from N. Schainwald & Co. to Allan Melville asking about the potential of leasing a piece of property on 6th Avenue to a third party. In the upper left corner is an embossed seal, perhaps of a building. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor. [Cataloger's note: This letter does not clarify whether Allan Melville is Thomas Melville's father, or Allan Melville, Jr. Thomas Melville was co-executor of his brother's estate, who died in 1872.]
