Abstract

Handwritten letter from W. L. Faxon, MD, Superintendent of the National Sailors' Home in Quincy, Massachusetts, to the Superintendent of Sailors' Snug Harbor [at this time R. P. Smythe, and also presumably received by Governor Thomas Melville], requesting a copy of the Sailors' Snug Harbor "diet list" [list of meals or menus], as they are having difficulty finding options acceptable to all of their inmates.
