Handwritten letter from W. L. Faxon, MD, Superintendent of the National Sailors' Home in Quincy, Massachusetts, to Governor Thomas Melville, of Sailors' Snug Harbor, thanking Melville for the bills of fare/menus that Melville has sent him. He mentions that the National Sailors' Home has a large vegetable garden and expresses an interest in visiting Sailors' Snug Harbor the next time he is in New York City.
