Abstract
Handwritten letter from D. E. Woodburn to Captain Thomas Melville, regarding Captain Joseph Sbisa, about whom Melville had contacted Woodburn on the 17th of April, 1878. Woodburn states that Captain Sbisa died on March 3, 1876, in Baltimore. Woodburn also requests information regarding Captain William Thompson [perhaps William H. Thompson?], who may be an inmate at Sailors' Snug Harbor.
