Handwritten letter from P. W. Connelly, Director, General Furnishing Undertaker from Bergen Point, New Jersey, to Captain Thomas Melville, informing him that Connelly found a drowned man in Newark Bay. The man was "fully identified" by two inmates of Sailors' Snug Harbor, John W. Smith and James Kent [the name of the drowned man is not given] and Connelly buried his body, but wishes Melville to know that he will disinter him and transfer him elsewhere if Melville wishes.
