Notes on inmate William Campbell, admitted to Sailors' Snug Harbor in April 1879
Identifier
SC-0016-III-A-1-0163Abstract
Handwritten notes in pencil that appear to be for a letter or note to "Rev Dr of Trinity" regarding the history of inmate William Campbell's presence at Sailors' Snug Harbor. He notes that Campbell was admitted in April 1879, upon contact from Grinnell Minturn & Co. and Tapscott Bros. & Co. [of Liverpool, England?] and that his expenses at the New Jersey State Asylum for the Insane in Morris Plains are paid for by the grant. He was examined on April 28, 1879 by Dr. Van Rensselaer and Dr. Bogart and Dr. Bogart believes he will never recover. Although not signed, the notes appear to be for the response to the letter from Rev. Dr. James Mulchahey of October 11, 1879 (SC-0016-III-A-1-0165) and may have been written by Captain Thomas Melville.Type Of Resource
