Abstract
Handwritten letter from Benjamin H. Stinson, a manufacturer and dealer of paint, to the Superintendent of Sailors' Snug Harbor requesting information on his uncle, Captain Benjamin Stinson, who he believes was an inmate and died approximately fifteen years before. He wishes to know if Stinson left any effects, was in debt to anyone, and additional information about Stinson's time at Sailors' Snug Harbor. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor.
