Abstract
Handwritten letter from Horace A. Buttolph, physician at the New Jersey State Asylum for the Insane, to Dr. Stephen Van Rensselaer Bogart, of Sailors' Snug Harbor, apologizing for not having notified Dr. Bogart of the burial arrangements made for Sailors' Snug Harbor inmate William Campbell. He mentions a note from a "Mr. Ford." Buttolph explains that Campbell's wife was at the asylum when he died, and wished for him to be buried in the Morristown cemetery, which was then done. He also mentions that the other Sailors' Snug Harbor inmates resident at the asylum are in good bodily health, except for Captain [Jacob] Langthorne, who is "passing through a congestion period."
