Abstract
Handwritten letter from C. [Charles] Henry King, Medical Director of the Grand Army of the Republic, Department of New York, to Captain Thomas Melville, notifying him that memorial services for Richmond County will be held on May 30, 1880, under the auspices of Robert Gould Shaw Post No. 112 [the local New Brighton GAR post], and invites Melville to attend. He also mentions that a public meeting will be held that afternoon at Stapleton Park.
