Identifier
SC-0016-I-D-1-A-009Abstract
Handwritten letter from Francis D. Perry, of Southport National Bank, to Doctor Bogert [Stephen Van Rensselaer Bogart], regarding the transference of Mr. James Dimon from Sailors' Snug Harbor to the Retreat [presumably the Seamen's Fund and Retreat]. Perry offers to pay, in accordance to whatever rules the Retreat has in place, the $5 a week fee for Dimon to live at the retreat. Perry believes that Dimon had worked a hard life, and at that moment is in need of being "controlled" in a way that the Harbor is unable to provide. As such, Perry believes the Retreat is the best place for him to be cared for.Type Of Resource
