Abstract

Handwritten letter from H. A. Carliss [name unclear], from J. Rule Tresider [Tresidder?], regarding the time of death for a man named Alexander Higgins, who stayed at Sailors' Snug Harbor. A copy of the reply Sailors' Snug Harbor sent to Tresider states the dates that Higgins was admitted to the Harbor, the date he died, and the cause of death. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
