Abstract

Handwritten letter from T. [?] Alexander, of American Seamen’s Friend Society, to Governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor, regarding an incident involving an inmate named "Mr. Bruzwick" [sp?] at the "Sailors' Home", [perhaps the home supported by the American Seamen’s Friend Society]. Alexander details how the inmate injured himself at the home. The annotation on the back gives the inmate's last name as "Boswell." Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
