Abstract

Handwritten letter from Charles S. Colburn, to Captain Thomas Melville, regarding a woman named Mary Gaghan who claims to be the widow of Andrew Gaghan, also known as James Wilson. Colburn asks if Melville can verify the information as correct. Melville replies that the only information he has is that Wilson collected a pension earned during the "Mexican War" and that the woman is his wife.
