Abstract

Handwritten letter from Geo. [George] Briggs, to Captain Thomas Melville, regarding a letter that he has written to man named Ross. Ross and Ross's wife, described as "rather a good looking and smart Specimen of the XVth Amendment" have described to Briggs a dispute between them and a man named "Hilliard or Hillman" and Briggs sets out the situation to Melville, and asks his counsel.
