Abstract
Handwritten copy of a letter addressed to R. P. Smyth, Construction & Repair Department, Sailors' Snug Harbor, asking him for a list "of all empties" he has had sent to New York since November 1, 1884 and requesting that a statement of all empties sent out should be submitted to the governor's office at the time they forwarded on. It is signed "by order of the Governor" and was written when Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask was governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor. According to a notation, copies were to be sent to R. P. Smyth, Dr. H. D. [Henry De Witt] Joy, Mr. [Joseph K. Clark], Steward's Dept., Mr. Clark Farming Dept., and Mr. Miles, Engineers Dept.
