Abstract
Handwritten letter from F. B. Hanson, of Portland, Maine, addressed to Captain Thomas Melville, asking if Captain Charles L. Milliken, recently deceased inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, has left any belongings that can be returned to the sender. Hanson also asks if his remains can be brought back to Portland for burial in a lot in Evergreen Cemetery, where his family is buried. Received after Melville's death, when Gustavus D. S. Trask was governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor.
