Abstract

Handwritten letter from Sigur C. Schultz, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, regarding the accompanying letter from Captain John A. Brown, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor until his death in 1884, to Schultz, his nephew, about Brown's trunk and personal effects. Schultz asks Trask for confirmation that Brown's belongings are to be given to him. In Brown's letter, he mentions Sailors' Snug Harbor's steward, Joseph K. Clark, and physician, Dr. Henry DeWitt Joy.
