Abstract

Handwritten letter from Frederick R. Wishman, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, expressing embarrassment at the actions surrounding his departure from the Harbor, his intention to seek employment, and returning a key and blank, signed passes. He recommends Thomas Cufflin, Captain of House A, to fill his place. He explains that Ernst Pepper should not be given the position, who took $15 from Henry Brown, and who may intend to harm Captain [Hiram] Chaffee.
