Handwritten letter from Frederick R. Wishman, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, expressing embarrassment at the actions surrounding his departure from the Harbor, his intention to seek employment, and returning a key and blank, signed passes. He recommends Thomas Cufflin, Captain of House A, to fill his place. He explains that Ernst Pepper should not be given the position, who took $15 from Henry Brown, and who may intend to harm Captain [Hiram] Chaffee.
The collection is on permanent loan at the Stephen B. Luce Library of SUNY Maritime College. The Sailors' Snug Harbor records are the Property of the Trustees of the Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
