Abstract
Handwritten letter from Captain Thomas Melville, to John F. Trow, regarding the death of Wm. [William] H. Byrne, inmate at Sailors' Snug Harbor. Melville asks How if he has any wishes for Byrne's effects or his burial. There is a reply written in pencil at the bottom stating that Trow does not know anyone by that name.
