Abstract

Handwritten letter from Thomas Squires, to Captain Thomas Melville, accompanying a letter from "Health Officer Vanderpool" regarding the health and potential re-admittance of his brother, [John Squires], to Sailors' Snug Harbor, after having his remaining leg amputated at a hospital. Squires states that [John] is anxious to rejoin the institution and wishes to see his old friends.
