Abstract
Statement of John Davis regarding alcohol that he drank. Davis explains that the alcohol was intended to be mixed with varnish but that he smelled it and drank it. He denies that it was given to him by James Kenny, who was suspected of giving it to him, and explains that he confessed these events to David P. Sherry, who had been a shipmate with him. Written while Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask was the governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor.
