Abstract

Handwritten letter from Thomas Cardin, former inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, writing to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask from the U.S. Marine Hospital in San Francisco, informing Trask that Cardin is in the hospital with a sore leg, having come from New York to Japan in the ship Joseph S. Spinney, then to British Columbia and San Francisco. He apologizes again for having left without permission and promises that if he is readmitted, he will not transgress again.
