Abstract
Handwritten letter from Edmund B. Double, former inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor residing in the Hudson River State Hospital, to Captain Ambrose Snow, responding to a conversation that he had with Snow on the way to the reunion of the 42nd Regiment in Boston. He states that he is interested in employment, which he discussed with Snow, and asks if Snow will offer said employment should he be deemed sane by the employees at the Hospital.  He also believes that he is still eligible to be an inmate the Sailors' Snug Harbor per Robert Richard Randall's will.
