Handwritten letter from Benjamin R. Mclaurin, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, explaining that when he left the Harbor the previous May, his effects were handed over to Mr. Jarvie and later delivered by Mr. Child. When they finally reached Mclaurin, he discovered some items missing and had contacted both Jarvie and Mr. [Joseph K.?] Clark regarding the matter but had received no answer. Mclaurin describes the items and asks for Trask's assistance.
