Abstract

Handwritten letter from Cyrus Tabor, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, stating that he was "fearfully abused" by "one Pearsall" [William Pearsall?] and asking for Trask's intervention. He names as witnesses Captain [Hiram M.] Chaffe [sic], [George W.?] Bartlett, Antone Silvia, and Treigg. There is a pencil notation with the number 1423, Tabor's inmate number, written in the lower right part of the page.
