Abstract

Handwritten letter from Lewis E. Lovell, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor staying in Hyannis, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, explaining that a lamp in Lovell's bedroom exploded and burned all of his clothing from Sailors' Snug Harbor. A handwritten notation at the bottom of the page confirms that Lovell's statement is true, signed by Charles C. Crocker, selectman of the town of Barnstable.
