Abstract
Handwritten letter from R. C. Edwards to Captain Thomas Melville, regarding the effects of the late Captain Theodore Lewis, who recently died at Sailors' Snug Harbor, and whose affairs Edwards looked after. Edwards states that it was Lewis' wish to send his effects to a man named Daniel Gullofson, who helped care for Lewis. For references Edwards refers Melville to Jacob A. Westerwelt, former mayor of the city, Fletcher Westray, tea importer, and Rev. Mr. [Charles J.] Jones, Sailors' Snug Harbor chaplain.
