Abstract
Handwritten letter from Alex Ostrander, attorney, to the Governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor, regarding his business with a man calling himself Captain Williams, who visited Ostrander with a proposal to build a boat for his son. Williams told Ostrander he just needed money to build the sails and some of the rigging, but did not return after receiving the money. Ostrander writers the governor to see if Williams is known at the Harbor.

Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor.
