Handwritten letter from Alfred O. Paine, former inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, asking him to remove his name from the list of inmates of the Harbor. he and his wife have land in Florida suitable for lemon and orange orchards. He explains that their state senator, G. S. Hardee, made a fortune [presumably in a similar way] and that if he falls on great misfortune, he will apply to the Trustees for readmission.
